Security processors handle up to 40 Gbits/s

The NITROX III security processor family combines 16 to 64 RISC cores, high performance compression engines, virtualization hardware, and a PCI-Express Gen 2 interface. The single-chip devices take only 10 to 20 W, do not require external memory, and support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 2,048-bit keys.

Security processors handle up to 40 Gbits/s

The processors supports up to 40 Gbits/s of security performance and 200K RSA ops/s for 1,024-bit keys and 35 K RSA os/s for 2,048-bit keys. The chips have support for GZIP, PKZIP, inflate and deflate algorithms and LZS compression, and single-root I/O virtualization on the PCI-Express Gen 2 interface. (From $257 for 5 Gbit/s device, ea/1,000 – samples Q2 2011)
