Sensor signal conditioner suits battery-powered apps
The cLite ZSSC3122 capacitive sensor signal conditioner (SSC) delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.25% full-scale-output accuracy. A built-in sleep mode lowers current consumption to less than 1 µA for temperatures up to 85°C, suiting the SSC for low-power battery applications, as well as industrial and rugged environments.
The device can be configured to interface with capacitive sensors from 2 to 10 pF with sensitivity as low as 125 attofarads per digital bit. It accommodates single and differential input sensor configurations.
The ZSSC3122 connects to microcontrollers but can also be used in standalone designs for transducer and switch applications. Housed in a TSSOP-14 package, the part offers an operating current as low as 60 µA over the entire voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5 V. The system interface offers I2 C, SPI, PDM or alarm outputs.
