A system in package solution for tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), the MLX91802 combines an analog pressure sensor, a low-power sensor interface, and an MLX16 16-bit RISC-based microcontroller in a compact, pressure-ported, plastic SO16 package. Using MLX91802 Uni-ROM firmware, the device can be fully programmed without writing code.
The firmware provides a complete solution for six TPMS modes — storage, parking, driving, pressure alert, fault, and test — defining the different modes’ features and transitions between them. Simple configuration tools let users set operating behaviors so that the sensor can be deployed in a customized TPMS module; configuration and customer data are stored in the sensors internal EEPROM.
