The STi7162 HD and STi5262 SD set-top-box SoC decoder/demodulators target free-to-air, cable, and terrestrial units, as well as hybrid products with support for IPTV. They combine an STB decoder with DVB-C cable and DVB-T terrestrial demodulators and have identical pin assignments for easy compatibility.
The ICs have a Linux/Windows CE/OS21-compatible ST40 applications CPU, a 32-bit DDR1/DDR2-compatible memory interface, DVR-capable transport stream processing, dual USB 2.0 hosts, and an optional Ethernet MAC/MII/RMII interface. They come in 27 x 27-mm PBGA620 packages. (STi7162, from $12; STi5262, from $11 — available now.)
