Shaftless encoders save board space

Shaftless encoders save board space

ES series snap-in shaftless encoders are substantially smaller than their
fixed-shaft counterparts–they require only 63% of the board space needed
by standard contacting encoders. The shaft can be mounted from either side
of a pc board. The encoders' snap-in legs are designed for a board with a
nominal thickness of 0.062 in. ES encoders are available with quadrature
outputs from 6 to 24 complete cycles (up to 96 state changes). Twenty-four
detents per revolution are optional. The encoders have a rotational life
of 200,000 shaft revolutions. ($0.93 ea/500–12 weeks ARO.) Bourns
