For evaluating narrowband analog radio equipment used in private commercial and public safety networks, the MG3740A analog signal generator outputs high-purity amplitude-, frequency-, and phase-modulated test signals with best-in-class single-sideband (SSB) phase noise performance (−140 dBc/Hz).With level accuracy of ±0.5 dB over a wide level range of −110 to 17 dBm, the generator permits accurate testing of radio Rx sensitivity and amplifier distortion characteristics.
The instrument can be be configured with an option that outputs digital modulations, so it can be used as a signal source for testing dual-mode radio equipment supporting both analog and digital communications, or full digital radio. Another option configures the generator with two sets of output ports, supporting wanted/interference waveform tests for analog radio standards. (Contact Kim Collins for pricing and availability.)
