SiGe VCSO suits fiber-optic telecom apps

Designed to meet the stringent requirements of fiber-optic telecom applications, the M675S02 series of low-jitter SiGe voltage-controlled SAW-based oscillators (VCSOs) supports fundamental frequencies from 500 MHz to 1 GHz. This device features a low phase jitter of 0.2 ps typ (50 kHz to 80 MHz) and a differential 3.3-V LVPECL output.

In addition, it offers ±120-ppm absolute pull range, linear tuning, and a 600-kHz modulation bandwidth. Housed in a 5 x 7.5-mm SMT packages, the part operates on a single 3.3-V supply.

Beyond the telecom and optical-fiber-networking applications, the device also serves as a low-jitter clock reference for A/D converters. Industry-standard KVCO (VCO gain) provide full replacement compatibility for most designs. (Contact company for pricing — available now.)
