Suited for portable instrumentation, industrial process controls, medical monitoring devices, and other applications that require reliable, highly accurate signal conversion, the AD7170 and AD7171 A/D converters have a 125-Hz output data rate and achieve 12- and 16-bit noise-free resolution, respectively. The parts consume 110 µA (5 µA in power-down mode) 25% less compared to competing ADCs.
Features include an INL of ± 0.1 LSB at 12 bits (AD7170) and an INL of ± 0.4 LSB at 16 bits (AD7171). Housed in a 3 x 3-mm CSP package, the parts feature an on-chip oscillator, a fixed sampling rate, and require no programming. (Ea/1,000: AD7170, $0.95; AD7171, $1.15 — available now.)
