Signal conditioners target SuperSpeed USB 3.0 designs

The PI3EQX7701 and PI3EQX7711 5.0-Gbit/s USB 3.0 signal conditioner ICs provide programmable equalization, de-emphasis, and input threshold controls to optimize performance over a variety of physical media. The single-port ICs have two 100-Ω differential CML data I/Os, and the PI3EQX7711 adds fully adaptive equalization.

The devices feature intelligent automatic power-down, low-level input signal detection, and output squelch, and they can reliably drive three meter cables. The chips operate from 0° to 70°C and take only 200 mW with a 1.2-V supply and 525 mW with a 3.3-V supply. Slumber mode takes just 36 mW and standby 5 mW. They come in 4 x 4-mm TQFN20 packages.
