The ColorZ reference design provides a silicon photonics based 100 Gbit/s PAM4 platform solution for 80 km DWDM data center Interconnect using a QSFP28 form factor module. With the advanced PAM4 pulse amplitude modulation, ColorZ can deliver up to 4 Tbit/s of bandwidth over a single fiber and allows multiple data centers within 80 km of each other to be connected and act like a single data center.
The QSFP28 package transceiver includes a DSP-based 100 G PAM4 ASIC. Two lasers are external to the device. The solution takes only 4.5 W at 100 Gbit/s and enables a 1U rack space unit with 3.2 Tbit/s bandwidth. Available 2H 2016.
