Silicone-free films offer high therm conductivity
The Keratherm U 90 and U 80 silicone-free thermal materials are ceramic-filled polyurethane films that provide high thermal conductivity between components and heat sinks. The U 90 has a thermal conductivity of 6.0 W/mK and thermal impedance of 0.05 Kin2/W and the U 80 provides 1.8 W/mK of thermal conductivity and 0.11 Kin2/W of thermal impedance.
Both materials are available with a light tack adhesive to keep them in place during assembly or pre-attached to heat sinks. With adhesive, the U 90 is available in thicknesses of 0.125, 0.225 and 0.325 mm and the U 80 is available in 0.175- and 0.325-mm versions. (U 90 on 1 in. square, 0.175-mm-thick pads from $0.16 each, U 80 at 0.175-mm from $0.08 each — available now.)
