The Simics 4.0 virtual simulation software provides software developers with a virtual version of their target hardware operating completely within a virtualized environment running on a standard PC. Devices from Freescale, IBM, Sun, Renesas, TI, AMD, Intel, MIPS, and ARM are supported.

The latest version adds Simics Accelerator that includes features such as page sharing and multithreading, allowing simulation of several machines in parallel. It also has Device Modeling Language enhancement for C/C++, Eclipse integration with Wind River Workbench 3.0, and integration with Freescale CodeWarrior development tools.
