Simulator enhances CAD

Flotherm 5.1 thermal management simulation software improves handling of complex geometries by letting users create discrete versions of imported CAD models with a grid that reproduces the model's shape with a high degree of accuracy. The software can also import comma-delimited ASCII files defining power/time profiles.
New features include support for the emerging JEDEC standard that lets designers characterize IC packages with compact models for cooling simulation. Software usability has been addressed by redesigning top-level menus to be more consistent with design-based project creation. ($19,500 for one-seat annual license�available now.)
