Constructed with a single wire-bondable pad on top and metallization on the backside for epoxy die attach, the SiC0101 silicon nitride capacitor is available in footprints down to 0.25 x 0.25 mm and heights to 0.1 mm — presented as the industry’s smallest and thinnest device of its type. The miniature chip capacitor offers stability over values from 4.7 to 22 pF at frequencies from 1 MHz to several gigahertz for applications such as voltage-controlled oscillators, filter networks, and matching networks in wireless modules.

The capacitor’s actual construction comprises a layer of silicon nitride sandwiched between two metal plates. The semiconductor construction provides an ultrahigh SRF and low ESR. ($0.01 to $0.02 ea/50,000 — available now.)
