Single-axis controller is fully integrated
Intended to simplify servo system design, the Xpress single-axis PC-based
motion controller accepts position feedback information and delivers motor
power via a 2-A, 10-V bridge driver. The board combines a high-speed
counter, a Motorola 56001 DSP-based servo controller operating at 20 MHz,
and a 20-W dc power amplifier. The Xpress accepts sine/cosine or AB
quadrature input from laser interferometers or linear encoders. The DSP
allows a 10-MHz input data rate and a 10-kHz servo update rate. A Windows
confirmation program is included, along with linkable C software libraries
for both Microsoft and Borland versions of C. ($1,474 ea/100–stock to 1
