Single chip handles PCMCIA interface The Z86017 peripheral adapter
provides interface and control logic for hard-disk controllers, flash
cards, fax modems, keyboards, and LAN adapters on PCMCIA cards. It meets
the full release 2.01 spec. The adapter was engineered as a core cell and
can be integrated in semicustom chips. It can switch from PCMCIA to IDE
interface for plugging the same peripheral into a desktop. The Z86017
comes in a 100-pin very-thin quad flatpack. ($7 ea/large qty–available
