Small converters handle heat

Intended for applications such as linear regulator replacement, a family of SIP3-packaged dc/dc converters is guaranteed to work in an ambient temperature from –40° to 85°C without forced cooling. Available with 90° pins for flat deployment on a PC board, the 15-W R-78Bxx-1.0 accepts up to 34 Vdc and can deliver an output from 1.5 to 15 Vdc at up to 1 A.

Also available with 90° pins, the R-78Bxx-1.5 provides from 1.5 to 6.5 Vdc at up to 1.5 A from an input of up to 18 Vdc. The 8:1-input-ratio R-78HBxx-0.5 offers from 3.3 to 24 Vdc at up to 0.5 A with an input from 9 to 72 Vdc with an efficiency as high as 96% and a peak current of up to 1.2 A.
