Small LEDs are more economical, brighter

Able to replace today’s XP-E and -G LEDs, XP-E2 LEDs can increase the lumen output of designs employing the former devices for the same cost and power, or lower system cost by reducing the number of LEDs needed to provide the same light output.

Small LEDs are more economical, brighter

XP-E2 LEDs are available in 2,700K to 7,000K color temperatures with minimum-CRI options of 70, 80, 85, and 90. The cool-white (6,000K) version of the 3.45 x 3.45-mm-footprint LED delivers up to 128 lm/W at 350 mA and 85°C Tj or 143 lm/W at 350mA, 25°C Tj . Since the LEDs are “successors” to the original XP-E LEDs for LM-80 data – ENERGY STAR qualification of luminaires using them requires just 3,000 hours of new LM-80 data, instead of the normal 6,000 hours. (Samples, free; commodity pricing competitive with existing LEDs — samples available now, production quantities with standard lead times.)
