CX20721 and CX20723 ultra low-power audio CODECs improve audio and voice processing for tablets and mobile applications and support I2 S/I2 C host interfaces. The ICs have a smart amplifier that, coupled with AudioSmart software, achieves a 2x improvement in loudness in small, thin tablet speakers. The chips take only 275 µW in low power mode.
The devices have 2.8 Wrms class-D speaker amplifiers with dynamic signal loudness optimization and 14-band hardware EQ and DRC that optimize speaker frequency response and loudness without distortion. They feature two pairs of 24-bit D/A and A/D converters with independent sampling rates up to 192 kHz for D/As and 96 kHz for A/Ds. The CX20723 provides additional functions including a mono output with a tunable EQ for subwoofers.
