MicroOLED smart organic LED displays use a built-in full-color embedded graphics controller to deliver standalone emissive display capability to any MCU — including PIC, AVR, Basic Stamp, and ARM — or a PC. To free up the host, the displays’ embedded commands control background color, produce various-size text, and draw shapes — including user-defined bitmap characters, signs, and logos — in 262,000 colors.
The 0.97 to 1.69-in. displays have resolutions from 96 x 64 to 160 x 128 pixels and viewing angles near 180°. Driven from a serial RS-232 or USB interface, they require 40 mA from a 3.6 to 6-V source and suit handheld, medical, automotive, or advertising use. (From $66 — available now.)
