When purchasing a smartphone, battery life concerns are often at the top of the list. While most smartphones today have decent battery life, we’ve rounded up a list of the longest-lasting devices currently available.
Because you shouldn’t purchase a smartphone solely based on battery life, the list also takes into account the basic performance of the device. The Samsung Galaxy S8 series, the LG G6, and the OnePlus 5 flagship phones all have good battery life, but if you want one that won’t run out of juice in crucial moments, choose one of these long-lasting devices.
Lenovo P2
Available for $270, the Lenovo P2 surpassed every phone in a battery test. The 5,100-mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor work together to produce a smartphone that lasts a while.
The P2 has 32 GB of internal memory, 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM depending on the model you choose, and a large 5.5-inch screen. The smartphone also uses a proprietary quick-charging technology, requiring you to use the Lenovo charger right from the box and not letting you use a standard QC-compliant quick charger.
While the phone isn’t available in the U.S., you can get it from other markets such as international sites like AliExpress.
Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom features a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh and, like the Lenovo P2, is coupled with a Snapdragon 625 processor. It is one of the few smartphones to offer optical zoom that’s not digital with two lenses that focus at different ranges. It can also shoot images in the RAW format if you wish to. The smartphone is available for $300.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro
If you’re looking for considerable battery life and are a fan of the Samsung brand, then the Galaxy A9 Pro is your answer. While it’s a year old, it is still the company’s longest-lasting smartphone with a 5,000-mAh battery. It has a 6-inch screen and is equipped with the Snapdragon 652 processor, which is beneficial for gaming. The device is available for $350 without a warranty.
Blu Studio XL 2
The Blu Studio XL 2 sports a large 6-inch screen with 16 GB of internal memory, 2 GB of RAM, a 13-MP camera, and a quad-core MediaTek processor. It is also equipped with a 4,900-mAh battery that will last a long time. However, there is not any quick-charging tech available, so juicing up the battery may take a while.
