SMT LEDs bring white light to more apps

Cost-effective sapphire-based devices deliver up to 355 mcd

Providing cost-effective illumination for applications ranging in scope from display and switch backlighting to signage and indicators, the VLMW41XX series white SMT LEDs deliver an output from 112 to 355 mcd at a cost from $0.12 per unit. The sapphire-based InGaN devices have a 60° angle of half-intensity with a color temperature of 5,500K and an ESD-withstand voltage up to 2 kV, in accordance with JESD22-A114-B.

The SMT white LEDs come in a PLCC-2 package with an epoxy- and TAG phosphor-filled reflector that converts the blue emission partially to yellow, which mixes with the remaining blue to produce white. The Pb-free and RoHS-compliant devices have CECC compatibility with infrared, vapor phase, and wave solder processes. (From $0.12-stock to 5 weeks ARO.)
