The Therma-Bridge line of electrically isolated, surface-mountable thermal-management chip devices is now available in case sizes from 0505 through 3725. The devices now provide thermal resistances from 14 to 9°C/W and thermal conductivity from 71 to 110 mW/°C.
The two-terminal parts protect components against heat by attaching one terminal to the heat source and the other to a thermal plane or heat sink, allowing heat to travel through the PCB vias. Terminals are constructed from RoHS-compatible platinum silver (PtAg), which suits epoxy and solder attachment, as well as solder-coated PtAg for solder attachment. (Sizes 0505 through 1206 start at $0.65 to $1.20 ea/100 — available now.)
