TDK Corp. has expanded its family of EPCOS aluminum electrolytic capacitors with the introduction of the B43548* series with snap-in terminals. With maximum ripple current capability of 9.80 A (400 V, 100 Hz, 60°C), this capacitor is suited for demanding applications in power electronics.
Key features of the snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitors include a maximum operating temperature of 105°C, and a rated voltage range of 400 V to 500 V, and a useful life time of 3000 h. Depending on the rated voltage, the series offers a capacitance range of 68 µF to 820 µF in case sizes ranging from 25 × 25 mm to 35 × 55 mm. A special feature is the high level of resilience against rapid charging and discharging cycles, said the company.
The capacitor’s aluminum case is fully insulated with PET. Versions with PVC insulation and PVC insulation and additional PET insulation cap on the terminal side (for insulating the capacitor from the printed circuit board) are available on request. In addition, base cooling is available on request for case sizes with diameters of 30 to 35 mm and lengths of 35 to 55 mm.
These capacitors can be used in frequency converters, industrial power supplies, UPS systems, medical devices, and photovoltaic inverters. They also can be used in demanding servo drive applications thanks to their robustness related to the rapid and discharging cycles, said TDK.
