SOC handles low/mid-range smartphone apps

The MT6575 platform for mid- and entry-level smartphones is a 3rd generation device and uses a 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processer, a proven 3G/HSPA modem, and the latest “Ice-Cream Sandwich” Android 4.0 software. The device should yield designs with up to 500 hours of standby and over 8 hours of talk-time on 3G.

For mid-range smartphones, the platform supports 720p high-definition video playback and recording with an 8 MP camera and qHD (960 x 540) high-resolution displays via a PowerVRTM SGX Series5 GPU from Imagination Technologies. (Price not given – available now.)
