Socket for 0.4-mm BGA verifies IC function

The SG-BGA-7163 BGA socket for 0.4-mm-pitch 221-pin BGA verifies IC function in a development system such as monolithic integration of GSM Baseband. Designed for 7.5 x 7.5 x 0.82-mm package sizes, the socket is constructed with high-performance low-inductance gold-plated embedded wire on elastomer and operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz with ≤1-dB insertion loss.

The socket connects all pins with 10-GHz bandwidth on all connections and offers a typical contact resistance of 20 mΩ per I/O, 0.01-pF capacitance to ground, and a current capacity of 2 A per pin. Pin self-inductance is 0.15 nH, and mutual inductance of 0.025 nH, with a –35° to 100°C temperature range. ($352 each — available now.)
