Sockets and adapters for SMT applications A family of surface-mount
sockets and adapters uses a floating-pin, screw-machine contact. The
contacts have 0.010-in. travel on the Z-axis to ensure lead coplanarity.
The sockets and adapters are available in DIP, ZIP, and PGA
configurations, many with integral pick-and-place tabs. Adapter versions
have a male pin with tin or gold plating and various lengths to suit
customer requirements. The sockets also have tin or gold plating and use a
