SPI output 16-bit D/A features tiny package

The AD5683R 16-bit D/A converter offers ±2-LSB INL with a 2-ppm/°C 2.5 V reference. The device comes in an ultra-small 2 × 2 mm LFCSP package and features an SPI interface, an output span of 2.5 or 5 V, and an operating temperature range of −40° to +105°C.

The chip has a total unadjusted error (TUE) of 0.06% of FSR maximum, an offset error of just ±1.5 mV maximum, and gain error of ±0.05% of FSR maximum. It has an 1.8 to 5.5 V independent logic supply, and robust 4 kV HBM ESD protection. Price is $3.15 ea/1,000 and lower accuracy, lower cost versions are available.
