Spread-spectrum oscillator reduces EMI

Suitable for applications such as copiers, LAN, printers, scanners, and industrial automation, the CSSC programmable spread-spectrum oscillator is a digital clock oscillator that claims to lower a product’s EMI outputs better than a conventional clock generator. Features include a frequency range from 1.5 to 200 MHz, a center spread of 0.25% + 2%, a down spread of –0.50% to 4%, and stability options of 50 and 100 ppm maintained over 0° to 70°C, –20° to 70°C, and –40° to 85°C.

Available in 5 x 7-mm and 5 x 3.2-mm SMD packages, the part operates at 3.3 and 2.5 V. The device is pin compatible with conventional SMD oscillators. (5 x 7 mm, $1.75 ea/1,000 — available now.)
