The EL3H7-G series phototransistor optocouplers are said to offer the industry’s best combination of specifications for power-supply designs — a true 2-mm height, isolation voltage of 3,750 Vrms, maximum operating temperature of 110°C, and a breakdown voltage of 80 V. The 4-pin SSOP devices suit applications such as dc/dc converters, battery chargers, general-purpose switching circuits, and programmable controllers.
The higher temperature rating — typical optocouplers are rated for 100°C max — allows power-supply designers PCB deratings to 110°C in low-profile applications—and enables dc/dc converters with higher efficiencies and power ratings, as well as improved thermal performance.
Features include selectable CTR ranges at low LED currents and a halogen-free/Pb-free construction that meets RoHS and other environmental initiatives. Creepage distance is 5 mm. ($0.10 to $0.20—4 weeks ARO.)
