For medical applications where sterilization needs to be combined with radioactive decontamination, the Fischer Core Series stainless steel circular connectors are constructed with 316L stainless steel, polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). These materials offer extremely high radiation and corrosion resistance, while ensuring consistently high performance even in high temperatures. The connectors enable microbiological sterilization (autoclave, ethylene oxide [EtO], gamma radiation, Steris or Sterrad, Cidex).
The connectors can be handled easily with gloves, and user choices include size, body style, plugs and contact block (PCB, solder or crimp contacts, 2-15 pins, and sealed or unsealed, including IP 68. Also, 360° EMC shielding can be added.
