What’s even worse than your cellphone dying when you need it is waiting for it to charge to 100%.

This week at Microsoft’s Think Next Conference in Tel Aviv, an Israeli company called StoreDot released a solution to lengthy smartphone charging — a battery that can charge your phone in just 30 seconds.
StoreDot created the prototype battery for the Samsung Galaxy S4 (demonstrated in the video below). According to the Wall Street Journal , the company plans on creating chargers for other smartphone types, too.

StoreDot is a startup company that arose from Tel Aviv University’s nanotechnology department. It develops biological semiconductors made from organic amino acids that create proteins when linked together. This technology offers extended life expectancy of batteries that will withstand thousands of charge and discharge cycles.
The company claims it can put the charger on the market for just double the price of a regular charger and possibly even start production within two years. When exactly you’ll be able to purchase this charger is still unknown, but at least the wheels are in motion for an easy charging solution.
