Step-down LED driver operates over 6 to 60 V

The 60-V LT3597 LED driver drives three independent LED strings of 100-mA LEDs and offers 10,000:1 true-color PWM dimming. Each channel contains a constant-current sink LED driver with a dedicated adaptive-output buck converter.

Features include efficiencies of over 90%, a programmable switching frequency of 200 kHz to 1 MHz, and ±2% LED current matching. The LT3597 uses three independent 400-mA, 60-V internal switches to provide step-down constant-current sources. Housed in a 39-lead 5 x 8-mm thermally enhanced QFN package, the part also features programmable LED thermal derating and programmable temperature protection.
