Stereo ADCs claim high dynamic range

The 24-bit, 216-kHz PCM4220/PCM4222 dual-channel A/D converters offer a dynamic range up 124 dB. These devices consume only 305 mW at 48 kHz, while enabling the option to power computer audio interfaces entirely through USB or FireWire bus.

Housed in 48-pin TQFP packages, each part features an on-chip linear phase decimation filtering engine that supports both classic and low-group-delay filter responses. The PCM4222 enables designers to achieve system flexibility through a 6-bit modulator output that bypasses the digital decimation filter. (Ea/1,000: PCM4222, $14.95; PCM4220, $9.95available now.)
