Sun Sea and Optical Communications, ECOC exhibition brings out industry best

Another successful exhibition brings visitors from over 60 different countries the latest developments from the optical communications market

Nexus Business Media Ltd (NBM), organizer of the ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communications) 2014 exhibition, has today announced that this year’s show, held at the end of September brought over 5,500 industry professionals and over 300 exhibitors to Cannes.

The show at the Palais Des Festival in Cannes last month attracted professionals from across the globe to view the latest optical communication solutions from more than 300 exhibitors and to hear the ever successful Market Focus presentations from a host of industry-leading executives.

JDSU, Inphi, FTTH Council Europe and Oclaro pulled large crowds with a diverse range of topics and discussion-evoking points covering access and mobile network, photonics integration, high speed optical networks and data centres. Visitors heard from Daryl Innis of Ovum who gave an insightful presentation on 100g for metro networks and covering the latest in optical transmission, this year was Daryl’s third consecutive year of presenting in the sessions, he commented “Market Focus is important because it is an opportunity to take the technology that has been developed in the market and show how it is impacting the real world as well as creating business opportunities”. The Market Focus seminars were once again a central attraction at the exhibition and this year saw an impressive 27 presentations from 29 leading industry speakers.

This year’s show played host to some great announcements from a diverse set of industry experts, giving visitors and insight into the future of the optical communications market. Visitors were also witness to a multitude of magnificent stands that created an immense buzz on the show floor. INNO Instrument, HJ3.W Inc and Keysight Technologies are just some of the exhibitors who bought in large crowds with their sleek and uniquely designed booths.

Beverley Lucas, Group Event Manager for NBM, organisers of the ECOC Exhibition said “The feedback from both the visitors and exhibitors so far has been extremely positive, especially in relation to the international appeal of the show and once again the show proved to be a great platform for new product launches.”

Over 1000 visitors also flocked to the conference which had two special symposiums and a variety of plenary speaker sessions attracting industry leaders, scientists and academia from around the globe.
