The SSD 510 solid-state disk drives feature a fast SATA 6-Gbit/s interface and come with 120- or 250-Gbyte capacities. They provide sequential read speeds up to 500 Mbytes/s and, at up to 315 Mbytes/s, yield more than triple the sequential write speeds of current 3-Gbit/s SATA interface drives. On top of that, they take only 380-mW typ active and 100-mW typ idle power.
The drives employ eight parallel multilevel-cell 34 nm NAND flash channels. They have 65/80-µs read/write latencies and come in a 2.5-in. industry-standard form factor. The units have random 4-Kbyte read speeds of up to 20,000 IOPS. (Ea/1,000: 250 Gbyte, $584; 120 Gbyte, $284 — available now.)
