The DMT double-layer capacitor (supercapacitor) is said to be one of the most reliable of the type available. It offers a capacitance of 0.47 F, five years at 70°C reliability, an operating temperature of –30° to 85°C, and a voltage rating of 4.2 V.
The 21 x 14 x 3.5-mm device's low 130-mΩ ESR enables high-current charging and discharging. Capacitance tolerance is ±20% and typical leakage less than 5 μA at 96 hours. Preproduction samples are available for about $3.50 each.
