Superscalar x86 µP advances performance
The Isaiah processor is said to combine all the latest advances in x86 processor technology, including a 64-bit superscalar speculative out-of-order microarchitecture, high-performance multimedia computation, virtual-machine architecture, and a low-power 65-nm process. The device targets portable slim and light notebooks, pocket-sized ultramobile PCs, and small-form-factor green PCs.
The processor supports clock speeds of up to 2 GHz, an 800 to 1,333-MHz front-side bus, and a highly efficient cache subsystem with two 64-Kbyte L1 caches and 1-Mbyte exclusive L2 cache with 16-way associativity. Also provided are hardware crypto acceleration features including a random-number generator, an AES encryption engine, and SHA-1 and SHA-256 hashing.
