Suppressors respond quickly
to ESD pulses
Targeting low-voltage high-data-rate applications, the SurgX ESD bidirectional
suppressers exhibit a capacitance of 1 pF max and a maximum leakage of
10 pA. The devices can handle peak currents of up to 36 A and can switch
to a low-impedance state in less than 1 ns typ when exposed to an ESD pulse.
Standard products include discrete 3216/1206 surface-mount devices,
connector arrays for RJ-11 modular telecom connectors, and 9- and 25-pin
subminiature-D connectors. When properly applied, the parts assist in ensuring
conformance to IEC 1000-4-2, MIL-STD-883C, and EMC directive 89/336/EEC.
