The Niagara 3416 network TAP system can fully monitor four network segments at Gigabit speeds. It has a series of flexible TAP and link aggregation options that gives visibility to network performance and traffic content. Network taps combat design conflicts between network intrusion detection systems and switches and essentially allow all traffic on a network device to be monitored.
The unit can support multiple configurations with copper, multimode fiber, single-mode fiber or any combination, factory configurable. It allows split TAP mode and split TAP link aggregation mode, each TAP option can be set to allow packet injection from the monitoring appliances, and the unit has high availability failover capabilities and redundant power supplies.
