Take a walk on the 3D side of a smart building. TE Connectivity has introduced a cool website for an interactive 3D intelligent building experience for engineers and customers. It lets you take a look at the exterior, interior, elevator, office, and even cafeteria and drill down to the electronics needed for each area.
The demand for energy efficiency and the evolution of smarter, more efficient technology has created the need for intelligent buildings in which building systems communicate with one another to react and respond to its inhabitants. “Smarter, faster, engineered interconnection systems are critical pieces that connect widespread systems, sensors, controls and devices to enable the modern intelligent building,” said Ron Weber, industry marketing manager for TE Intelligent Buildings. “Our virtual 3D building allows us to tell the intelligent buildings story through a user experience that is as innovative as our products.”
The 3D tour allows users to journey through five different spaces within a building environment to discover how TE’s latest connectivity products enable OEM products in integrated building systems to connect more intelligently. Users can explore the exterior building, the interior building lobby, the elevator cab and shaft, office space, and the cafeteria. Each environment transitions into multiple vignettes that feature TE products used within the application. Each listed product is linked to specific TE product catalog pages that allow engineers to obtain more detailed information such as available product variants, 3D models, specifications, and drawings. Throughout the tour, a link at the bottom of the screen is always available that provides engineers with the option to submit a question directly to a TE expert.
