TAP Engineering Webinar, Nov. 5, 2014, and Seminar, April 21-22, 2015

In the first of a planned fall/winter webinar series, Dr. Todd Summers, SoftWright's director of research and development,will conduct a short webinar titled “Intro to RF Path Analysis with TAP.” SoftWright says this webinar, planned for Nov. 5 at 11 to 11:30 a.m. EST, is most appropriate for new TAP users and interested engineers who have not had time to download the demo and try the Quick Tour. Summers will also provide a high-level overview of many of the RF path planning features and reliability calculations available in HDPath.

SoftWright has conducted regular engineering seminars since 1990. Each TAP engineering seminar is two full days of RF engineering instruction on how to design both coverage and path studies for VHF/UHF, paging, land mobile, PCS, cellular, SCADA, microwave and FM/TV broadcast transmitting facilities, and intermodulation prediction and treatment. In the sessions, you will operate the TAP RF system design software to solve numerous RF related problems. There is also a strong emphasis on how to formulate necessary engineering judgments in order to successfully design reliable RF systems. Many actual land mobile and microwave radio system design problems will be used to teach how to apply both the engineering principles and Terrain Analysis Package software tools.

As a terrestrial RF propagation software tool, TAP is data- and computation-intensive.  It has been common for large area coverage studies using high-resolution data to require hours of execution time.  However, TAP 6.2 is an iterative release of the next generation of  TAP software that uses an all-new calculation engine to dramatically decrease study execution time.
