TDK-EPC publishes EPCOS strap varistors product brief

Iselin, NJ, December 2, 2011 – TDK-EPC, a group company of TDK Corporation, has published a Product Brief 201 featuring strap varistors.

The six-page brochure presents 40 and 50 mm varistors suitable for surge protection devices (SPDs) to protect home power entrances, as well as for photovoltaic and wind power plants.

The varistors satisfy requirements of IEC61643-1 as well as the type 1 component standard for SPDs to UL 1449 3rd Edition (September 2009). Unlike types developed to Class II, the LS40-E7 type additionally offers performance of Class I.

In addition to the standard types listed in the Product Brief, strap varistors with customer-specific terminations are manufactured for specific applications.
