These new LED array holders target a broad range of LED lighting solutions including down lights, spot lights and track lights, and are suitable for both home and commercial applications including recessed downlights, high bay lights, retrofit lamps, and wall sconces.
TE Connectivity’s new LUMAWISE LED holders available from Mouser Electronics provide a quick and easy way to mount LED arrays and to integrate secondary optic components inside room lighting fixtures. These LED array holders are available in pre‑assembled one‑ and two‑piece configurations and are flexible enough to accommodate a virtually unlimited range of LED package sizes and plating materials from a variety of LED manufacturers, including CREE, Osram and Philips Lumileds.
LUMAWISE LED holders greatly simplify the process of mounting LED arrays, accelerating time to market by minimizing assembly costs and improving assembly efficiency when compared to traditional methods of LED mounting. The Type Z LED array holders are designed to enable designers to develop Zhaga compliant modules, providing interchangeability with a variety of LED arrays.
The mounting system provides solderless electrical, mechanical, thermal, and optical connectivity. LED arrays are mechanically secured to the base with stainless‑steel screws. This positions the LED array onto a heat sink providing heat dissipation while insuring proper optical alignment. The electrical pads of the LED are pressed firmly against the electrical pads of the LUMAWISE mounting base, providing a firm, solderless electrical connection to the LED array.
