The almighty Zeus: A device that 3D-prints, scans, and faxes

A 3D printer like you’ve never seen before

AIO Robotics’ Zeus is sleek, savvy, and perfectly suited for your office. With 3D-printing, scanning, and Internet faxing capabilities, this device is very efficient and comparable to the sci-fi-esque teleportation over a “Internet Protocol (TolP)” device or the replicator which we once fictionally saw in Star Trek.

Zeus was developed in 2013 and started as a Kickstarter project and raised $111,111 of its $100,000 goal. What makes this device far superior than other 3D-printers on the market is that it is a standalone apparatus, not requiring computer connectivity to operate. The average 3D printer uses a CAD file to produce images, whereas Zeus does not; it operates independently over Wi-Fi. Zeus’ Exynos quad-core ARM based processor and 1.7 Ghz system can be controlled through the touchscreen.

To scan objects, Zeus can scan any item smaller than 9 inches wide and 5 inches tall and it is placed on the machine’s turntable and scanned with “swiping laser triangulation” technology. AIO’s scanning procedure can take upwards of 30 minutes to complete. All data is then stored to its 8 GB of memory or on a MicroSD card. Once the item is scanned, the Zeus can print it onto the PLN or faxed over the internet through a Wi-Fi connection for the 3D model to be printed somewhere else. These features are somewhat teleportative, and are extremely futuristic.

The external counterparts of Zeus are made from CNC-machined aluminum to ensure durability. Zeus is available for $2,499. If you order the “AIO Care Package,” you’ll be supplied with replacement parts, free repair services, and inclusive shipping.
