A thermal speed-control option for several of the company’s dc fans has been developed to help reduce energy consumption in industrial enclosures and electronic equipment cabinets. The “green fan” option uses a thermistor control circuit that increases fan speed only when the temperature rises above a determined setpoint. The control circuit can be mounted directly in the fan hub, or remotely mounted via an orange lead wire positioned anywhere in the enclosure.
The thermistor control option is offered on fans including the OD8032, OD8038, OD1238, OD127, OD172S, OD180APL, and the OD254. (From $15 ea/99 — stock.)
