Dialight expanded its MicroLED surface-mount indicator family, adding three new models — a 0402 and two PLCC-2s — to the lineup. The PLCC-2 LEDs are designed for light pipe, backlighting, and indicator applications, and all three devices target networking, automation, and handheld device applications.
The 5-mA 0402 (1005) SM 5988A , measuring 1 × 0.5 × 0.4 mm, is a small but powerful indicator that conserves battery power in small electronics. Suitable for use in tight spaces, the SM 5988A is available in seven wavelengths: 635 nm and 625 nm red, 605 nm orange, 590 nm yellow, 570 nm yellow-green, 525 nm green, and 470 nm blue.
The PLCC-2 mini 5988C is available in low-current 2-mA or 20-mA LEDs.
The PLCC-2 3528 SM 5988B and mini PLCC-2 SM 5988C series focus the beam with an integrated reflector cup, reducing light bleed and yielding a brighter on-axis viewability. They are available in six wavelengths: 623 nm red, 605 nm orange, 590 nm yellow, 570 nm yellow-green, 525 nm green, and 470 nm blue.
The 20-mA 3528 measures 3.5 × 2.8 × 1.9 mm and offers high-intensity light. Available in low-current 2-mA or 20-mA versions, the mini PLCC-2 5988C is approximately half the size of the standard PLCC-2, measuring 2.2 × 1.4 × 1.3 mm.
Compatible with pick-and-place equipment, the 0402 SM 5988A is available in 4,000-piece reels, while the PLCC-2 3528 and the mini PLCC-2 5988C LEDs are available in 2,000-piece reels and 3,000-piece reels, respectively. All three devices are offered in 20-piece sample strips.
Dialight indicated that it will roll out several additional products in the near term.
