Thyristor protects European modems

Designed in close collaboration with modem manufacturer LSI, the TISP4310T3BJR-S surge protector meets the stringent European ITU-T K.21 enhanced protection standard, which is a 600-Vrms, 600-Ω, 1-A test for 1 s—increased from 0.2 s — without damaging the modem chipset.

Based on thyristor overvoltage protection technology, the protection device reduces protection voltage from 350 V to 310 V to ensure that the heating effect of the 1-s test does not push the voltage over 350 V where the modem could fail. ($0.15 to $0.12 ea/20,000 to 50,000 — available now.)
