The Raychem SiBar thyristor series now features bidirectional TVSs in an expanded range of available voltages and lower capacitance to help protect high-speed ADSL/VDSL modems, Ethernet and PoE, and other high-data-rate communications equipment from damage from overvoltage events. Compliant with standards such as GR-1089 Core, ITU K.20/K.21, IEC61000-4-5, FCC part 68, and UL60950, the thyristors are available in industry-standard surge-current families of 50, 80, and 100 A (10/1,000 µs).
Specifications include voltage ranges from 6 to 400 V, capacitances to 12 pF, maximum leakage current of 2 µA, and a minimum hold current of 150 mA. ($0.15 to $0.42 ea/10,000—8 to 10 weeks ARO.)
