TIDA-00443 is a 900W power factor regulator converter.

TIDA-00443

It is best suited for motor-based, inverter-fed BLDC/PMSM appliances, and is a continuous conduction mode boost converter that may be used with the UCC28180 PFC controller.

TIDA-00443 has all of the required built-in protections and supports an AC input range of 195-270 VAC. Between operating loads of 50% and 100%, the design offers very high efficiency.

Worth noting — TIDA-00443’s boost follower configuration aids in reducing switching losses in downstream inverter/converter and the PFC regulator.

The design's unique configuration has an efficiency of ~98% and saves 5.2 W at 230 VAC and full load. This eliminates the need for external cooling up to 55oC ambient operation.

TIDA-00443 features low bus capacitance, low bus ripple, built-in front end protections, and low RMS currents. It meets IEC 61000-3-2 Class A and D regulations and has hardware that has been tested to pass surge, conducted emissions (EN55011 class A, EFT norm IEC6000-4-4, and Surge norm IEC61000-4-5), and EFT in compliance with EN55014 requirements.
